Wednesday, 19 November: Club night

Time: 7:00pm

Venue: Fish & Game rooms

Guest Speaker: Ainsley Haslett with Fishy Tales from the Backcountry

Why would someone walk 10km to find a fish? Who would want to spend 2 weeks solo in the bush? What madness is it to raft the length of the Karamea in a tiny inflatable boat? Which husband or wife would ever let their partner do that?

Join us at this month's presentation to hear stories from the backcountry presented by our club member Ainsley aka nzadventurer. You may have seen some of Ainsley's adventures on his YouTube channel  - Join Ainsley to hear some of the behind the scenes action that went into planning the trips, how the fishing really was, who cut his fly line 6 days into the wilderness and how to repair it. We'll also take a look at gear selection for overnight trips for those planning multi-day trips this season. We may even find the answer the most important question - why would anyone walk 10km to find a fish, try to catch it, but never eat it?
